Born and raised Winnipeg, Manitoba, Troy Plummer grew up valuing the importance of education and sports. He earned an academic scholarship to the University of Manitoba Asper School of Business to play collegiate volleyball. After graduating, he was challenged with finding the right career path to fit his grand ambitions.

After learning about AIL from a fellow alumnus, Troy joined AIL-Altig in 2004. Within 9 months, he was appointed to Master General Agent, then Regional General Agent soon after. In 2006, Troy moved to the United States to make Minnesota the #1 territory in the country—which he did. Troy says, “I proved that the skillset you learn at Altig is transferable and will make you successful wherever you go.” Troy continued to move for the opportunity and went to Virginia to build an office from scratch. Then he traveled across the company to train upcoming managers with the Altig Field Operations program for 18 months, after which he returned to Canada to help lead the Burnaby office.

In Burnaby, Troy and his team achieved what had never been done before: 3 consecutive years of achieving Altig's Top 2 for Office of the Year and Top Office. Additionally, Troy personal achieved #2 MGA of the Year in 2015, and #2 Top RGA of the Year in 2016. “Back to back years of achieving #1 office was incredibly special, but the third year really stood out. We still managed to be a top office while moving out our top management to go lead offices of their own in Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, and St. Johns—effectively having a manager from Burnaby in each province AIL-Altig operates in.”

In December 2017, Troy was promoted to Altig Director of Sales. Together with other company directors, Troy will support the growth of all leaders in the North American Territories of AIL-Altig.

Troy holds a Bachelor’s in International Business and Marketing from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. His 13 years of experience in the business spans personal production, management, systems and processes, and of course leadership development. As Director of Sales, Troy says “I am excited to take my success, share it with others and help the company hit its next milestone in growth of $80 million.”
